Project - Colour Blocks

While "crafting" a complicated image with geometric interplay, subtle lead ins and all sorts of clever devices to retain attention in one spot of key interest is an enjoyable puzzle, sometimes nature just dazzles me with unambiguous great chunks of colour that leave me aghast and scrambling to capture the show before it flits away. These treats for the eyes are rare, and when they happen they tend to be extremely brief moments - one has to work fast. They also often seem to happen to the right or left of the main subject that I went to photograph in the first place and I admit to an unattractive self satisfaction, if I know I've spotted it when others are still snapping away at the obvious shot.

Typically this type of shot has me REDUCING colour saturation in post processing as often the colour is so intense, it verges on the unbelievable.
